HELP Jamaica! is proud to support the Manifesto/Jamaica Team by funding four out of five Minifesto Events in 2019.
MiniFestos are creative platforms for community building and cooperation. They pop up where community leaders, emerging talent, and Manifesto Jamaica’s network of social workers and creative professionals collide. MiniFestos feature curated introductory-level entrepreneurial and creative workshops, performances and exhibitions.
The MiniFesto workshop menu is designed to reinforce ‘21st century skills,’ and includes topics like: Creative Writing, Contemporary Dance, Parkour, Unlocking Talent and Business Basics for Social Innovators. Imagine a mini-festival featuring works of art and talent from your neighbourhood on showcase for a day.
Manifesto Jamaica first launched its MiniFesto concept in 2010. After a 7 year hiatus, they’re back by popular demand. This summer, Manifesto Jamaica takes the MiniFesto series to five different communities in Kingston and St. Andrew. The 2019 series is funded by HELP Jamaica!, with additional support from the C.B. Facey Foundation.
The first edition was succesfully held in the community of August Town on Saturday, August 17th. Check out the video and wonderful pictures (by Machel Witter) of the first MiniFesto event 2019! Coming up is MiniFesto in Parade Gardens on Saturday November 9th.
More updates on the next Minifesto events in Parade Gardens as well as Mona Commons, Tivoli Gardens and Standpipe (tbc) are coming up soon…
